I Propilei sono costituiti da una struttura centrale e due ali simmetriche. Il corpo centrale presenta sei colonne doriche frontali e, all'interno, sei colonne ioniche e due navate laterali. Tra gli edifici che affiancano la struttura centrale, con funzione di entrata principale all'acropoli, quello di sinistra svolgeva il compito di pinacoteca, mentre quello di destra non fu completamente realizzato per la presenza di mura micenee, alla distruzione delle quali i sacerdoti si opposero.
