Simeis 147 (Spaghetti Nebula) is a large SuperNova remnant in the constellations of Taurus & Auriga. It is the result of a SN explosion about years ago. It is 3000 light years away and about 140 light years across - Massive!
This image, the first to be released publicly from VISTA, the world’s largest survey telescope, shows the spectacular star-forming region known as the Flame Nebula, or NGC in the constellation of Orion (the Hunter) and its surroundings.
The Carina Nebula (catalogued as NGC also known as the Grand Nebula, Great Nebula in Carina, or Eta Carinae Nebula) is a large, complex area of bright and dark nebulosity in the constellation Carina, and is located in the Carina–Sagittarius Arm.
Nebulous Strings in the Veil NebulaThis image shows a small portion of the Veil Nebula - the shattered remains of a supernova that exploded thousands of years ago. The Veil Nebula is located in the Constellation Cygnus about light-years away.
Combined visible and infra-red light images of star forming region Sharpless This nebula is located about light-years away in the direction of the constellation Cygnus. It formed less years ago, making this one of the youngest star-forming regions known.
