Preserves are typically made with whole or roughly chopped fruit.

You'll need:
2 lbs strawberries
4 cups sugar
1 cup water

Roughly chop 2 pounds of strawberries
(or keep whole/halve
if the berries are small)

Boil 1 cup of water and 2 cups of sugar until the mixture reaches 230°F.

This syrup helps the preserves thicken without the use of pectin.

    • 4 cups sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • 4 cups strawberries, roughly chopped (about 2 pounds)
Tip #1: You can reduce the sugar by half (from 4 cups to 2 cups), if you'd like.
Tip #2: Keep the berries whole if they're small (or cut them in half). If using larger berries, quarter them.
Tip #3: Put the preserves on toast, in oatmeal, on Greek yogurt or ice cream, or on pancakes/waffles.
