This graphic organizer can be used by students to write out the main idea and supporting details of a text. The directions given on the pyramid-shaped organizer are not specific to any particular text, so this could be used with any fiction or non-fiction text. I have used this organizer once in a fourth grade classroom in Indiana, and it worked well in helping me see if the students understood the relationship between main idea and supporting details. Created by Rachel Lantz in the Spring of 2012.
