Looking for new ways to get your students excited about reading? I've found that many of my student drag their feet when in comes to reading because they cannot find a book they're interested in. I've create this Book Recommendation Form to help! Every time a student, myself, or another teacher in my school reads a book they really enjoy, we fill out this recommendation form. It contains information on the book's reading level and genre as well as a brief synopsis and a space for the reading to explain why they enjoyed this book. All of these recommendation forms do into a big binder in my classroom. Now, when a student is looking for a good book, he or she checks out recommendations and is instantly engaged. I also use this as a mini "book report" assignment for my students and as a way for students to prepare for "book talks" with their peers. Fully editable. Enjoy!
