Madonna of the Streets was a painting created by Roberto Ferruzzi (1854-1934) and first publicly exhibited in 1897 at an art exhibition in Venice. The models for this painting were Angelina Cian (age 11) and her younger brother. Although not originally painted as a religious picture, this painting was received by the public as a beautiful image of the Virgin Mary holding her infant Son, and has become the most renowned of Ferruzzi's works.
Mother of the Unborn
Mother of all...Tho not referred to as Goddess in Christian doctrine, Mary is worshiped universally as the Mother Goddess Who gave birth to the Christian sacrificial God, Jesus. She is often depicted as part of/same being as Shekinah and Sophia. Like the latter two, Mary is often symbolized by a white dove, a Rose & Lily. Mary shares most of the titles of the ancient Goddesses, such as Star of the Sea, Mystical Rose, Queen of Heaven, Dark Virgin, Black Madonna, Mother Earth, and Moon Mother.
