Melanie Morris Art™ on Instagram: "When you’re painting from a floral, it’s easy just to focus on making sure the flowers are perfect and forgetting the background. Early on I wouldn’t even think about the background color until I finished painting the flowers. This was a bad idea that caused a lot of frustration. Now I set everything up from the start including the background. I keep big sheets of colored paper in my studio to give me plenty of options. It’s amazing how the flower colors change based on the background color. When I’m painting a bouquet that includes a lot of color I’ll always try a white background or this blue. Tiffany blue is one of my favorite colors and you’ll see it in my florals and landscapes. What’s the color that you love that keeps popping up in your life? #
