What Gary Speed meant to fans of the clubs he played for and why he will be remembered as a legend
Gary Speed was a major part of the great Leeds midfield that won the title in 1992. He came from Chester & played for the club for six years before heading off for boyhood club Everton. He was a great all round player, strong in the air & on the ground and scored vital goals regularly. His death in 2011 remains one of the great shocks of our time. Leeds fans will always remember him with affection & the immortal words from a game v Sheffield United 1990: "go on Gary Speed, get one yourself son!"
