Recipe video above. These slow cooked beef cheeks are so meltingly tender that you can eat them with a spoon. And the sauce is so flavourful you'll want to drink it out of a cup! This recipe makes enough to serve 6 people, made with 6 small beef cheeks (or share 4 large ones). Leftovers are brilliant to freeze, or turn into a quick Ragu to toss through pasta or making a Pie!

Luscious Daube Beef Cheeks in the Slow Cooker

Luscious Daube Beef Cheeks in the Slow Cooker

This divine Provençale dish makes the most of cuts of meat that need a long slow cook. Beef cheeks although not traditional are fantastic in Daube en Bouef. The key to this dish is marinating the beef cheeks in red wine overnight and then cooking them with vegetables. I've upped the amount of vegetables in this so that it truly is a one pot meal. For an utterly satisfying winter warmer look no further than this.

Moussaka (Greek Eggplant Lasagna)

This traditional Greek Moussaka recipe is from the The Food and Cooking of Greece cookbook. I have adapted it slightly and made notes where I have made changes. Though it seems like there are a lot of steps, this recipe has a nice flow to it. Prepare the eggplant first, and while they are sweating, make the filling. While the filling is simmering away, make the béchamel sauce. Then put it all together to bake!
