Railwaymen streaming down New England Road on their way to a hurried breakfast, in 1912. They started work at 6 am, and had a break for their breakfast between 8 and 8.30. Most of the men lived quite near to the Works, in such streets as Argyle Road, while others lived in Railway houses in adjoining roads.
Original train departure board
This is the original train departure board at Brighton Station in 1984. The station opened in 1841 with arrival of the railway and the day-trippers. They still come today but the train information is digital.
Brighton seafront
Brighton seafront 1983/4..... what a slide!! Mini lagoon used for canoe / boats at the time now sadly filled in ...... baby / bathwater blah blah. Brighton Metropole to left and West pier still there!!
