JP and Paul Norden, two brothers who went to the Boston Marathon to cheer on a friend each lost a leg in Monday’s bombing. Their mother, Liz Norden asks that the public pray for their recovery. JP is alert but Paul is unable to talk. Let us remember that the victims have a long recovery before them . . . including further surgery to aid in the healing of their physical wounds. The emotional pain will continue much longer. Pray for Boston, the victims, and their families and friends.

The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) defines “severe forms of trafficking in persons” as: sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such an act has not attained 18 years of age. Unfortunately, this law expired in 2011 & has not been renewed by congress. "The economic reality is that human trafficking is driven by profits. If nobody paid for sex, sex trafficking would not exist."
Deconstructing ‘World’s Friendliest People" An article from the New York Times (March 12, 2013) by the Frugal Traveler actually suggest that the term friendliest people should be changed to most hospitable, most welcoming, most helpful, most positive, warmest, most fun, and most genuinely interested in meeting outsiders. I would suggest that part of your perception of each of these are really a reflection of your approach-ability and receptive attitude.

When a state government in Australia considered creating a 10-cent refund on recycling plastic bottles, Coca-Cola poured money into a misleading campaign to oppose the plan. Then, when common sense won out and the plan passed, Coke sued the government to stop the program.
Every Tuesday morning a bright-eyed spunky woman drives to Direct Relief and energetically leads a team of volunteers. Although all of our volunteers are very special, there is one incredible thing about Edythe Kirchmaier – she is about to turn 105. The goal of Edythe’s 105th Birthday Challenge is to generate 105,000 birthday wishes for Edythe, which will equate to 105,000 Facebook fans for Direct Relief and make Edythe’s birthday wish come true.
