VW Type 147 "Fridolin" delivery van prototype. In the early 60s, the German Postal Service asked VW to design a postal van bigger than a VW Beetle but smaller than a Kombi/microbus. VW based the design on the VW Karmann Ghia (Type 14). Its official name was Volkswagen Type 147 Kleinlieferwagen (small van) but due to its funny and badly proportioned shape it was affectionately called "Fridolin".
