Xilitia San Luis Potosi, Mexico History of Las Pozas, where the Surreal Garden is located, dates since 1947, when Edward James, in a semi-exile, acquired the coffee farm “Xilitla”. During several years, James used this space to seed orchids and as a home for exotic animals. It was until 1962 when he started to think about the structure of a garden with surreal sculptures, inspired in the orchids he had sown and in the typical vegetation of Huasteca Potosina
